On Stellantis 1.0 and 1.2 PureTech engines the belt runs in oil and degrades if the oil is not exactly the specified grade. Stellantis has extended its goodwill cover: check eligibility before paying.
The hourly rate: it can double between a small-town independent and a city-centre dealer.
Parts quality: genuine, original-equipment brand or aftermarket.
Access: on some engines other parts must come off before the mechanic can reach the job.
