Replace your scooter CVT belt and rollers

On CVT scooters the belt wears and eventually snaps. Replacing it with the rollers restores original performance.

Before you start

Work on a cold engine with the scooter on its centre stand.

Steps

  1. Remove the left-hand transmission cover.
  2. Hold the variator and loosen its centre nut.
  3. Remove the pulley half, take out the rollers and clean their tracks.
  4. Fit the new rollers the right way round, then the new belt.
  5. Reassemble, torque the nuts and close the cover.

Safety

The centrifugal clutch holds springs under tension: do not strip it without the right tool.
